Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Smart Pantry when you subscribe.
What you are buying
Smart Pantry is an app for tracking food you own and when it will go off. One plan is sold, Pro, billed monthly or yearly. On this website it costs £9.99 per month or £99.99 per year. In the iPhone and iPad app, the App Store shows the price in your own currency before you confirm. Both include everything; the yearly price is the same plan paid for twelve months at once. The feature list shown at checkout is what the plan unlocks at the time you subscribe.
Some features are marked as not yet built. Those are stated intentions, not promises with a date, and your subscription is for the plan as it exists today.
Pre-booking
Until Smart Pantry is on the App Store, nothing is sold on this website. Pre-booking is free and is not a purchase: it records your email so we can tell you when the app launches. Pre-bookers get 15% off their first payment — the first month, or the first year — once per person. On this website it is applied automatically when you subscribe with the email you pre-booked with; in the app, use the offer code in the launch email.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or yearly depending on the plan you choose, and renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Payment is taken by Stripe. Prices are in pounds sterling and exclude any tax that applies where you live, which is added at checkout where required.
If a renewal payment fails, access continues while the payment is retried and ends when the period you have already paid for runs out.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not end the month or year you have already paid for, and access continues until that period ends. Nothing you have entered is deleted when a subscription ends — your pantry is still there if you subscribe again.
To cancel a subscription bought on this website, email jeewang936@gmail.com. A subscription bought inside the iOS app is cancelled through your Apple Account instead — in iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions — because Apple handles it and we cannot.
Refunds
Payments are non-refundable. Every account gets three days of full access free before any payment, so you can decide whether Smart Pantry suits you first. We do not refund change of mind, unused time, part of a month or year, or a renewal you forgot to cancel.
UK law normally gives online purchases 14 days to cancel. When you subscribe on this website you ask for access to start straight away, and you agree at checkout that you lose that right once it has.
The exception is a billing mistake on our side — a charge after you cancelled, a double charge or a wrong amount. Email us and we refund the mistaken charge in full.
Purchases made inside the iOS app are billed and refunded by Apple, not by us. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, for example if the app does not work as described.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. One subscription covers one account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, which permanently removes your data — see the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a web subscription, so cancel first.
What is not promised
Smart Pantry helps you keep track of food; it does not tell you whether food is safe to eat. Expiry dates, freshness indicators and reminders are based on what you enter and on general guidance about food groups. Use your own judgement about whether something is still good. The app is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
About Apple
If you use the iPhone or iPad app, it is licensed to you under Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement together with these terms.
These terms are between you and Smart Pantry, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, for maintaining or supporting it, or for handling any claim about it — including a claim that it is faulty, that it fails a legal or regulatory requirement, that it breaches consumer protection law, or that it infringes someone else's intellectual property.
If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for the app, if any. As far as the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for it.
Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms against you. By using the app you confirm that you are not in a country under a US Government embargo, and are not on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Changes
These terms may change. If a change materially affects what you are paying for, you will be told before it takes effect and can cancel.
